Job Description
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead and manage all operational activities at our Kingaroy branch, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and in line with required standards while delivering production targets and quality outcomes.
Working closely with the Branch Manager and branch, the Production Manager will oversee end-to-end production operations across stock feed manufacturing, packing, store operations, and dispatch, with a strong focus on operational planning, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement to ensure products are delivered on time and to specification.
Your key responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day production operations, plant, and equipment to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Lead, coach, and manage employee performance in collaboration with the Branch Manager, fostering accountability and teamwork.
Conduct safety inspections, address non-compliance, and actively promote a safety-first culture across the site.
Plan and manage production schedules to meet order volumes, customer requirements, and delivery timeframes.
Oversee the transport delivery fleet and collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to support effective production and distribution planning.
Plan and manage workforce rosters to support production demands and operational continuity.
Ensure plant, equipment, and technical systems are calibrated, maintained, and operated in accordance with quality and maintenance standards.
Coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and improve operational reliability.
Monitor, analyse, and report on production, quality, and process performance metrics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Desired Skills and Experience
Our Ideal candidate will possess:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Production Manager or similar operational leadership role, ideally within feed manufacturing, agriculture, or FMCG environments.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and process optimisation, with working knowledge of HACCP and/or FeedSafe (highly desirable).
Strong, hands-on leadership capability, with experience motivating, developing, and managing operational teams.
A genuine commitment to workplace safety and the promotion of a safety-first culture.
Sound understanding of manufacturing principles, quality standards, and production processes.
High attention to detail with strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across operations, sales, and support teams.
Current forklift licence and experience operating forklifts (highly desirable).
