Job Description

About the role

Join our dynamic team as a Mill Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in producing high-quality animal feed products. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain mill equipment, ensuring efficient and safe processing and timely delivery of feed products. This role requires close collaboration with the production team to achieve production targets and adhere to stringent quality control standards. We are currently hiring for this critical position at our Oakey branch, where you will be directly reporting to the Production Manager.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor mill machinery and equipment, including crushers, mixers, pellet mills, conveyors, bagging machines, and process control software.
  • Report any quality or production issues to the Production Manager as soon as identified.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet daily production targets.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.
  • Conduct regular quality checks, including weight measurements, pellet durability, and moisture content assessments.
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area and adhere to sanitation protocols.
  • Engage in training sessions for equipment operation, safety protocols, and industry updates.

Desired Skills and Experience

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing role, preferably within the feed, agriculture, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
  • Experience as a forklift operator and possess a current forklift license.
  • Boiler Attendance Ticket or the ability to obtain one.
  • The ability to pass random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain high standards of quality in work.
  • A commitment, reliability, and a proactive approach to work.

Please note | This position requires flexibility to work day, afternoon, and night shifts from Monday to Saturday, as needed, which may occasionally include some public holidays.
